Composer / Director JG Everest has been developing spatial soundscores for over two decades, for dance and performance work, creating several site-specific sound + performance installations for a wide variety of locations. In recent years, he has developed the Sound Garden model, composing spatial scores played back on 25+ independent remote speakers, with live choir and poetry accompaniment in outdoor spaces such as Union Depot Plaza in St Paul, Ordway Prairie in Pope County, MN, Northrop Mall at U of MN, The Wolf House Garden in Mpls, and the Nokomis Naturescape Gardens at Lake Nokomis Park in Mpls. Sound Garden installation events transform and activate spaces and transport audiences with immersive, spatially-driven arrangements firmly grounded in place and energy.
In 2018, Wavelets Creative will present a series of four free public sound garden events at four sites across Minnesota, inspired by each of the four seasons:
WINTER on frozen Lake Nokomis in Minneapolis on Sunday Feb 18, 2-4pm;
SPRING at Harbor Park in Grand Marais on Saturday, May 26, 12-5pm;
SUMMER at Silverwood Park in New Brighton, July 22, 12-5pm;
AUTUMN at Manomin Park in Fridley. September 30, 12-5pm
